Mechanical 5.0 V8

This truck came with a straight six.

In 1995 I bought a brand new 5.0 pull from Saleen Mustang in California (they pulled 5.0/302s and replaced them with their hot 351s). Installed the new engine in 1998. Absoluterly everything under the hood and in the drive train is new.

The following is a list of improvements made to engine and drive chain.

Ford Motorsport high compression aluminum heads

Ford Motorsport high torque performance cam (for automatics)

Ford Motorsport roller lifter kit

Hooker headers (shorties)

Weiand intake manifold

Mallory Ignition System

Flowmaster 2-1/2” duals

Edelbrock performance four barrel carburetor.

B&M racing transmission Ford AOD

Ford Motorsport cast aluminum valve covers.

Electric fan with custom made cowling

Two Batteries with off, 1,2, both switch

Power brakes

Front disc brakes

4.57 rear end rebuild

Xxx wheels with xxxxx tires xxx tread depth now

Gear box for speedo to compensate for the wheel diameter

Tranny cooler

I am sure I forgot some things. The truck dynos at 250 at the wheels (which would translates to well over 300hp on a bench dyno). The engine has 19,000 miles on it.

The truck really sounds hot. The cam and the big pipes make it rumble like a big block. The B&M just slams it into the gears pulling your head back. But its really just a toy… not for racing.
